    Dominican Republic announces higher taxation of casinos and gambling

    The Dominican Republic's Ministry of Finance and Economy has introduced an anti-crisis fiscal package that includes a three-percentage-point surcharge on corporate income tax for large taxpayers, increasing it from 27% to 30% for three years. This package also features higher taxation specifically targeting casinos and games of chance within the country.
